Moose Vinyl

Moose Vinyl started as an idea between my brother, my cousins, and me in early 2023. We are collectors ourselves. We kept losing track of what we owned and accidentally buying doubles, including gifts we had bought for each other. So we built an app to help collectors keep their collections organized.

That idea grew into much more. Today Moose Vinyl is a place to manage your collection, buy and sell records, and connect with other collectors. We also run a brick-and-mortar shop in Lemont, Illinois, just south of Chicago. We are still collectors first. Everything we build comes from problems we have run into ourselves, at home and at the shop.

As co-founder and head of engineering, I took the app from concept to the App Store. That includes the mobile app, the marketplace, and the systems behind them: real-time sync, feeds and follows, secure payments, and ingestion pipelines that keep a catalog of over 150,000 records up to date.
